I have several rules that trigger when a hub variable changes. I noticed one of them didn't seem to be working today. I tried editing the log settings (added events and triggers) and saving the updated rule didn't fix it and neither did a hub reboot. There was nothing at all showing up in the logs when I changed the variable. The only thing that fixed it was deleting and re-adding the trigger action.
Is this just me or are others having the same issue? I'm hoping I don't have to dig through all my rules to find which ones aren't firing.
Did you recently upgrade from a year-old or so platform version? I recall a bug like this being fixed a long time ago (though I don't recall whether it needed any user effort afterwards--quite possibly hitting "Done" or "Update Rule" if so, and if you created the rule on one of these versions, upgraded since, and just noticed it now — and this was indeed the case — that could also explain it).
Looking at the App Status page (gear icon) and checking for an event subscription for your hub variable would be one way to tell whether there is even a chance of it triggering--if no subscription, it definitely won't.
Thanks for the reply. I've been keeping up to date with new firmware and I'm pretty sure this rule worked just a few days ago. I checked the gear icon and I thought I saw the subscription, but I didn't take a screenshot so I'm not sure now. I'll check a few more rules and see if I can find anything else not firing.
