I am trying to create a rule that will capture the state of a sensor then depending on if the sensor is open or closed do different actions. I am having issues with setting up the variable. When in Rule Machine if I select "set Mode, variables or File..." the option to "Set Variable" is not there. I am running Hubitat 2.2.5.131 which is the latest.
You have to create a variable first before this option will show up. If you only need the variable within this specific rule, I'd create a local variable. Use the "Create Local Variables" link on the main/first page of the rule to do so. You can also create a global variable in the "parent" Rule Machine app if you want to access this variable from other rules. In any case, this will give you the option to set the variable(s); they're just created initially somewhere else.
