Is there anything in the works for having a way to choose a Room and add that device to it and move all others to their respective rooms as well if they already exist?
As SmartThings had an app where that made sense I don't see the purpose here.
Unless it could pass it along to Google Home (which I don't think is supported by Google).
If they had a full app or a stellar dashboard I think it would make sense but maybe not now.
How would you use it?
I asked about having this as well so that the device list could be grouped. The answer I got was that would require an entire rebuild of the UI, so not going to happen. But I thought it was a good idea too.
i just group mine by name ie all my dinning rooms stuff has (DR) before its name or (SmB) for small bedroom. It's not as good as a rooms setup but it makes things easier to find.
I was looking for something similar when I first started using Hubitat. What I eventually found, and what might be useful to you, is the "Groups and Scenes" built in app.
You can arbitrarily group devices together, and if by room is your desire you can do that.
It's under the "Apps" section of the web UI. If you don't see it you might need to click on the "Add Built-In App" button to install it. It's been a while since I first used it so I can't remember if it was installed by default or not.
Good luck with your home automations.
Thanks guys. I will look at the "groups and scenes". This is all new to me and I will have to get used to the differences in HE and HS.
The problem with this is that Group and Scenes only allows you to include bulbs, dimmers, and switches.
I like rooms as they work in SmartThings as it helps me to keep track of what is installed where. Note that while the app calls them rooms, in the IDE they are called groups.
