Hi there
I am controlling my bathroom lights using Room Lighting and want to add a level of sophistication to it but have created a conflict.
I have a virtual switch for motion which is turned on by one of two motion sensors activating, This switch will not turn on after 10pm.
I have another virtual switch which is toggled on/off by a button in the bathroom.
I have set it up so the motion virtual switch works fine. But when I turn the button controlled switch to on, because the motion virtual switch is still set to off it creates a conflict. I need a way of ignoring the off command of the motion virtual switch when the button virtual switch is used.
I feel like this should be obvious to me from the settings but I cannot see it.
Thanks
Could you post a screenshot of the Room Lights setup page.
You have some complexity going on with these virtual switches. My suggestion would be to simplify, and put the relevant devices directly into Room Lights.
The time restriction on the motion sensors would be a Limit Activation option. Then there will be an option under Additional Options to ignore Conditions for the Activator device. The button you push in the bathroom should flip the Activator device that the app creates. That way, it would work at all times, while motion would only activate during the allowed time.
I have a further question to this.... thanks in advance
I was able to add this option to the Room Lighting page for the bathroom set up (below)
However I have tried to replicate this for my office, it has a Linptech Motion Sensor TS0225 and there are two sets of lights, ones in the ceiling which are controlled by a Candeo Dimmer Switch and some LED strips which are controlled by smart plugs.
I'd like to have the motion continue to control the lights (ceiling and LEDs), but when I use the dimmer switch for it to override the motion and stop it from turning off the lights until I have deactivated the dimmer switch again.
The option to Ignore Conditions for Activator Device is missing from the list.
I'm sure this is by design, but is anyone able to explain why and how I would achieve the result above?
Would I need to create a rule outside of this to bind the activation of the LEDs to the ceiling lights?
Because you don't have any Conditions to ignore.
