In my configuration, I have a number of the house lights prevented from turning off when my Roomba switch is on, but it seems that after the switch turns off, the room lighting app can get stuck "Active" even when the respective light switch is showing as off, and not activate the light based on motion as per the normal trigger. Is this a bug? Or am I being an idiot?
Post your means to turn off. One thing that comes to mind is having the Roomba switch be a means to turn on and off. Have the Roomba switch on turn on room lighting and prevent turning off. Have the Roomba switch turning off also turn off Room Lighting.
I turn the lighting on and off in Webcore, and just prevent inactive motion from turning them off while the Roomba is running with the Room Lighting app.
You want Switches that determine all lights are off and have it be the light that is controlled. This way, whenever the light is turned off in a different system (or manually), it will automatically turn off the Room Lighting instance.
Great, thanks very much. I'd just assumed the app would check the state of the controlled lights and react accordingly. Just updated all 33 lights
Fingers crossed it solves the issue

Room Lighting activates and turns off. What happens when this occurs is based on the device table. So, they are two completely separate things. In your scenario, when Room Lighting becomes activated, it will turn on the Hallway Lights. Any time Room Lighting turns off, it will turn off the Hallway Lights. If the Hallway Lights are turned off outside of Room Lighting, you need to let Room Lighting know this occurred. That is where "Switches that determine all lights are off" will tell Room Lighting to turn off because the Hallway Lights are already off.
I've got this option selected since I use Room Lighting to turn on Hue scenes. When I turn off the Hue groups via other mechanisms, Room Lighting turns off as well.
Thanks very much ![]()
