Room lighting app mode save

Trying to use the Room Lighting app with modes. Read the help file and I don’t think I am seeing the correct behaviour as nothing I have done will save the settings per mode if I try to set a single mode at a time. I started this question prior to finding a way to save the settings by editing all modes at same time.

E.g., I go into set up lighting periods and select Day. Change settings under activation settings.
A. Press Recapture Day. Settings cleared and set to off.
B. Press Done with periods. Revisit settings and find Day reset to prior values

I stumbled on a way to set the values. If I edit all modes at the same time and then press Done with periods the settings are saved. If this is expected behaviour then the help file needs to be updated. This app looks like a fantastic tool but it will frustrate users who read the help file. Specifically:

“One way to make this task easier would be to set the lights the way they should be for a particular mode, and then select the Re-Capture button for that mode”

Attached is an screenshot of modes incorrectly set. I had all modes with different values. The green circled mode is only one which was retained correctly.

Notes: Room lighting app and Google Home

When importing into Google Home I had trouble with multiple Room Lighting rules. Deleting the rule and recreating then re-importing into Google Home fixed them. If the rule is bad, Google Home will not work with it. i.e., the voice command doesn't work. The voice command <phrase> activates the rule only if the rule is good. I was having difficulty figuring out how to turn off the rule due to these bad rules. When the rule is good the voice command <phrase 'off'> will work correctly.

The broken mode settings may be a factor in bad rules when imported into Google Home. Setting all modes prior to first save seems to result in a rule that will work in Google Home.

Ikea blinds (community driver, works great, thx!) may be a factor in bad rules when importing into Google Home. The blinds were defaulted into the selection when I created the rule. Removing them prior to first save seems to result in a rule that will work in Google Home.
