I thought it may be useful to capture people's current experience integrating their robot vacuums with HE. It would be interesting to know what models natively integrate with He and what methods people use to integrate others.
I assume many would be using HA to do the rest... I have recently purchased a Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2, with no real concern about how I might automate it generally, I am happy, if I have to, to manage it within it's own ecosystem. That said, I am assuming someone within HA will have written something... They normally do....
You know, I have pretty much everything in the house automated with Hubitat. My Robot vacuums are linked with the hub, but I haven’t automated anything with them at this point.
They clean on a regular schedule that I set using their app, and that’s been working up to now. I’m not really sure what I would change by automating those through the hub, so I’ll be curious to see what others are doing!
Yeah, essentially where I was with considering my options, i.e, I was not that worried, any additional automation was a bonus.
Buyers remorse, just a little 
I was happy, but unsure about Roborock Q10 S5+ after I realized that it was one of the first Roborock vaccums not to have the ability to run local. This was one of my key reasons for purchasing Roborock. Thought originally that was what I was getting and I was glad to be free from the cloud dependency of my old Deebot...except that I wasn't as it turned out.
Motivation to keep it came from an available Homey integration which worked out pefectly becuase I had just decided to purchase a lifetime dev license for Homey SHS. Plus the Roborock was blowing my old Deebot Ozmo 970 out of the water for the exact same price I paid for that old vacuum.
I later thought to try vibe-coding a Hubitat driver as I mention in that other thread, which was based on all the code everyone was working on for this, and other roborock vacuums. That turned out really well. Still does more than the HA community developers have provided so far, and has a few more capabilies than the Homey integration has.
I haven't automated mine too much. I do have an old Lutron Connected Bulb Remote in my kitchen that wasn't in use, so I have that setup so I can press specific buttons for:
Clean Kitchen
Quitely Clean Kitchen
Clean Kitchen and living room
Stop cleaning and empty
I also created an automation for the rest of the house. There's a step up from my living room to the rest of my home, so the robot needs some help. I created an automation so when I say "Alexa, clean the house" or 3 alternate phrases, the following will happen:
- Alexa says "OK, leave the robot in place while I empty its dustbin, then move it to the top of the steps in the foyer and say, "Alexa, I'm ready".
- When "Alexa, I'm ready" is said, the automation selects my map for the rest of my home and starts the cleaning with my specific vacuum settings for that task.
Other than Alexa triggering some virtual switches when the commands are spoken, the robot is completely controlled from Hubitat (albeit cloud based). No Home Assistant or Homey required to automate it.
There’s at least 3 on the compatible device list. though there’s gotta be a better way to find them than searching for Generic Matter RVC. 
As far as automations go, I have the basic vacuum when everyone leaves, dock when anyone returns. When my home is in “vacation mode” the vacuums run every day.
As a part of my wake up routine, if the vacuum downstairs has not cleaned in 48 hours and no one is downstairs, clean downstairs in quiet mode. Once the upstairs has been empty vacuum upstairs as well.
I use the switchbot K11+ for local only matter over wifi. It’s a good little vac and gets the job done.
My other vac is a narwhal freo, hacked via appleshortcuts to get to play “nice” with hubitat. The freo is a better mop then vac, and it works…. but until my home can handle auto fill and auto empty consistently i’m going to focus on good matter vacs once the freo dies.
I have a Roborock Qrevo CurvX Robot Vacuum. I have integrated many of the robot's status attributes from Home Assistant into HE.
When the robot starts cleaning at 10 pm every night (we are in bed), HE turns off the motion-activated lights in the specific room it is cleaning. HE will also make sure that our Home Alarm internal sensors are not activated if we choose to have the robot clean while we are away.
