RM5 - Unexpected Error

A few days after upgrading to 2.2.8.141 - I suddenly saw this error message (below) when trying to open up ANY of the rules I created in RM5!
I was also fooling around with Hub Variables prior to seeing this error.

An unexpected error has occurred trying to load the app.
Check Logs for more information.
Error: For input string: "0.1"

I am not sure where to start!

Please do this with a Logs tab open, and take a screenshot of the Logs when the error is thrown. Open which app specifically? One of the Rules or the Rule Machine parent app?

I can pick ANY of the new rules I created in RM5 and it will throw this error.

If I try to create a new RM5 rule - I get this error...

Also - When I go into settings / Hub Variables I get this error:

app:27402021-07-26 05:17:00.147 pm errorjava.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "0.1" on line 313 (method hubVar)

I was on another Hub running 2.2.8.141 - and I created a Hub Variable for outside temperature, and enabled "connector" as a variable. This caused the Hub Variable module to crash and throw an error as well as the rule I created to update that variable!

Do you mean that you created a decimal variable and then a "variable" connector?

yes

perhaps that was a stupid thing to do - but how do I recover?

OK, I just tried that and nothing weird happened.

To recover, you probably have to restore from a backup. Or you could download a backup and email it to me and I could take a quick look at it, to see if it's fixable, or perhaps to see what went wrong. If its fixable, I would do that and send it back.

ok thanks - I assumed I would need to restore from backup

I am restoring one from early this morning at it just endlessly shows this screen!

How large is your database? I don't mean an actual number, just large, small, medium? Lots of apps and devices?

I meshed it with another Hubitat in the house which has maybe ~150 devices

otherwise this hub may have ~ 5 virtual devices/15 rules

Open another browser tab to it. See what's going on. Perhaps reboot it.

new browser tab was unresponsive - rebooted and it seems like the restore from backup worked!
Thanks for the help! I will stop breaking things today:)
