Hi! I have in my house a Ring Security Sysem (I believe is the old one) where I have some open/close sensors, keypad and a hub. How can I integrate it to my hubitat so I can see status of sensors, activate rutines, presence sensors etc? Thanks!
Gen 1 for sure! Thanks!!
I never had any luck getting the Ring keypad to work reliably directly with Hubitat.
However, the user-app that uses the IFTTT integration hooks to directly work with Ring seems to do a good job.
I thought that was a problem with Gen 2 not gen 1 hardware.
I think gen 1 gear pairs ok.
I have a bunch of gen 2 door sensors and a gen 2 motion sensors paired directly with the hub. I also have a early version Gen 2 Keypad that works most of the time.
Possibly. I have a Gen 2 keypad I wanted to use--to little avail.
I have gen 1 and have been using the Unofficial Integration since it came out. Works like a charm!
The other integrations won’t help you integrate with the Ring alarm, they will help you add the devices to Hubitat instead of to Ring.
Same here.
Although I have found that on occasion the websocket does require some manual intervention, particularly when there's been a lapse in my internet connection. I set up a Rule to notify me when it's been disconnected and unable to reconnect on its own.
Yup, same! Good idea about a rule… you could actually have a Rule Machine rule that fixes the issue rather than notify you…
Do you always follow the same steps?
It's been a minute since I last had to intervene, but I'm pretty sure I just click the Initialize command in the API device object, which I never figured out a way to incorporate into a Rule. If the power is out for a very long period I might have to reauthenticate in the app.
This Rule has done well enough for me, I get the occasional disconnect notice but most of the time it ends up reconnecting on its own.
Very nice rule! I’ve been lucky on the disconnect front for the most part… but this could be useful!
