Hi, stupid question...does (or can) the Ring gen1 keypad, while running on USB power, repeat z-wave signals?

And no way to switch it over to an active mode? I suppose not...that's just how the radio was made. Alright, thank you!

Only if the manufacturer built the device to support that. There are several devices built this way.
