Ring Integration Beta

Are you getting the same problem where you have to force a refresh to get the alarm location device to show the correct ring mode?

Yes, I have that same issue.

I have the same issue with the command buttons.

I want armed home/away displayed first, your others are interesting.

Which apps are you using? Also, is this ring alarm or HSM status?

The community Ring app for Ring. I sync it and HSM. I use HSM because it knows about night.

I wrote a couple weather apps.

Ok.. Most of the issues I have looked at here were fixed early on in this new beta cycle..

Please re-test and let me know what is still not working..

If you update to the latest hub platform version, you have the latest Ring integration version...it is included in the platform.

Current latest is 2.5.0.135:

Thanks for the update. I don't see motion or volume added to the keypad device.

The alarm location device is not updating the mode changes - a manual refresh is still required. The commands still do not appear to work.

Not there yet.. But thanks for the reminder.. I'll hook up a keypad now to test..

The terminology is a bit confusing here.. Are you talking about on the alarm base driver page? or the location device driver page?

Sorry about that. Hopefully this helps. I was referring to the "location device".

I checked the "alarm base station device" and it doesn't work completely either.

As stated above, the location device for the ring alarm still requires a manual refresh to update to reflect the correct mode state of the ring alarm. This was not fixed in this revision.
I still need my workaround automation which forces a refresh of the location device when the alarm base station device changes state from "none", "some" or "all".

I may need more explanation on what you are expecting..

From what I understand the alarm base replaces location device for this function when an alarm base is installed at the location.. At least that's what the error seems to imply that comes back when you try to use location device to set this..

Why wouldn't you use the alarm base device for this automation?

I feel like I am missing something..

Are y'all wanting location device to mirror alarm device when you have both?

This is odd as on mine I can armAway and armHome on my alarm base.. I may need to sample some logs.. @jgbLC can you PM me your hub id and I will enable some debug logging for us to try again..

"some" "none" or "all" are the mode states for the alarm base station. They don't reflect the actual alarm states such as "armed away", "armed home" and "disarmed". In fact, my guess is that they actually reflect the ring alarm conditions where you've decided which devices get armed and participate when you set the ring alarm to armed home and armed away. So theoretically, if you decide in the ring app that you want all the devices to participate in both armed home and armed away states, then the base station device in the hubitat integration would show "all" for both states. That's why the ring location device thats also created by the ring integration in hubitat is more relevant. It correctly reflects the actual states for the ring alarm. The only problem is that it doesn't update or refresh itself when the state changes.

Ah.. That's the part I'm missing..

So correct the states reported and then mirror location device to alarm ..
