Return from Away takes 5 mins to update dashboard mode tile

Due to an upcoming trip I'm just starting to properly sort out my Away mode actions and setup. I have created a "Home Mode" virtual switch that is then used in Mode Manager to trigger Away when switched off, and return from Away (time based) when switched on. It works perfectly and actions that are based on the switch of modes work instantly, but I noticed that my Current Mode tile on my local dashboard takes 5 minutes from the return from away action to update to the current mode. I also use Sharptools and the tile on that updates immediately. If I switch dashboard page and back again it does update so I presume it's just a refresh issue, but I would have thought it would update quicker than Sharptools rather than slower?

More details and testing. Firmware 2.0.0.104. local dashboard on either Chrome on Android 7.0 or Windows 10 PC. Same is true with the dashboard display from within the Hubitat pages as well as independently.

Further testing reveals that the delay in update can be seconds but can be up to 5 minutes and what I think is actually happening is that the mode change doesn't actually update the mode tile at all but my temp sensors on the same page, update every 5 mins or earlier if the temp changes and when that happens it updates mode at the same time.

Screenshots showing dashboard page at 12.11 with mode tile showing Day and system log showing away mode activated at 12.10. The HRV Away mode, which is switched by mode change, is on and activated immediately.

IIRC there's a setting either in the dashboard page itself or in the dashboard app where you can set the refresh rates for both local and cloud connections. I think the default for cloud pages was 5 minutes.

There is a setting but it's default is 2 seconds for local and 5 seconds (not minutes) for cloud.

This is happening on a local dashboard page anyway and is set to the default of 2 seconds.

It sounds like your dashboard didn't get the update packet due to a time out or packet loss. The 5 minute refresh is to make sure everything stays in sync.

Open your browser console f12 and watch the network tab for the updates during the change. If it's not in there or it has errors please let me know. Otherwise it appears it recovered properly.

I will try that, but this wasn't a one off issue. It happens every time I change from Home to Away or back.

Support on Thanksgiving day.. Incredible! You guys really deserve a break today. I do hope you take one. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and your families!

Wow, sorry I hadn't even realised being a Limey! Sorry Patrick, it will wait until tomorrow, no problem.

Which is the delay, sometimes a few seconds? That is normal. Or waiting for 5 minutes?

The refresh window is 10 seconds. You should see the mode change in the json response for the update for up to 10 seconds in the network tab.

I'm guessing knowing how dedicated the team is, that no applogy is neseccary, but very kind of you to offer him one. Thanksgiving has come and gone already here in Canada, but being an American I'm sensitive to the importance of this day for families to enjoy one another (or annoy one another, depends on your family )

The delay appears to be until something else on the dashboard refreshes.

So if a temperature tile gets an update the mode updates at the same time, if nothing else changes it goes to 5 minutes before updating. As per the screenshots I posted that was at 1 min 30 sec or so after the mode change but it actually didn't update until after that. I've got the browser console open but I don't really know what I'm looking for.

But seriously Patrick, don't worry about it on a Holiday. It will wait.
