Restore from backup not changing version numbers?

It appears that when I try to restore a previous version, my version number doesn't change, but there's nothing to indicate the restore had failed.

Before, showing where I restored back to 2.2.5.126:

After, showing I'm still on 2.2.5.131:

Shouldn't the version read 2.2.5.126?

Nope! The hub database backups on this page contains only things that fall within the hub database, like devices (the list; the contents of the radios are separate), apps, custom code, hub settings, etc. It does not include the hub platform/firmware. The column there simply shows you the version the backup was taken with so you can match them up if needed; sometimes, there are breaking changes, and it's important to roll back a database from the same firmware if you also roll back firmware, for example (rare, but it's happened a couple times; you'll see it mentioned in the release notes, and it's never a bad idea--keeping in mind that you'll lose any work made since then--but not usually technically required).

You'll see a small note at the top of that page:

If you want to restore a previous Platform Version click here.

That link will take you to the diagnostic tool, where you can roll back your firmware version if needed.

Ah, I guess that makes sense. I'm just trying to get back to a place where I can pair my Zigbee devices again. I'll update this comment.

@bertabcd1234 is completely correct..

The Hub runs it's Platform software, which is currently v2.2.5.131 and that is entirely independent of the contents of the Backup. You can swap Platform versions via the Diagnostic Tool, and/or you can swap Backup images.

The Backup images store all of the hub details that are YOU.. everything you've done to change the Hub since it was first powered up by you. (Over simplified)

If you (via the Diagnostic Tool menu) perform a soft reset, it removes the Database, and you have a Hub that looks a lot like it did the day you bought it... moments after Registering it. However, there is a 3rd piece.. and that is the Databases that are saved out on each Z-Radio. At this time, nothing we have backs that up.

Therefore, in general, a Soft Reset is followed immediately by the restore of one of the Backups.

Thanks for the explanation. That does make sense. I would consider myself pretty techy, but I've had some Zigbee devices fall off my network and nothing is available when I try to pair now. (Thread here.) A soft reset might be my next step...
