C8-Pro. After minor release 177 or was it 180 it was announced that Hubitat fixed the expired certificate. Great News. I had removed theirs and added in a certificate chain I created myself. Works ok on my PC since I installed the root cert. But that is not working on all devices I use. Since the default certificate was fixed, how does one go about finding the default certificate so that I may reinstall it in my Hub? Thank you.
I would assume if you remove your cert it would revert back to the built in?
If only it were that easy. I assumed that also when I installed mine over there default so I didn't save the expired one. The cert fields on my hub are empty and remained so after a hub reboot. Maybe the next update will take care of it. Thanks for your reply.
Did you consider using the Diagnostic Tool to install an older platform version, then doing the update to the current platform version again?
I was contemplating doing that. So after your post, I backed up and gave it a whirl. Fell back to version .177 then back to .180. The cert fields are still vacant.
However further investigation reveals that even though the fields are vacant, connecting to my hub with https works with a cert invalid error. The cert in use is the hubitat default cert and it appears valid to me. Could be that the expiration of 10 years into the future is to long. Issue solved. Thanks to the community for their support.
Yeah I suspected if it was blank the hub would fall back to its default. I am guessing it was all blank before you filled your own cert in as well.
The invalid part someone else pointed out as well when it was first updated. They said one of the names on the cert had a space in it which was invalid and they also thought the 10yrs was possibly causing a problem.
