Got a power outage, and although the hub is on a UPS, it didn't survive. It will power up, then when the UI is up, about 10 seconds later, solid red light on the hub, no response, and the switch port it is plugged into shows no connectivity. I have tried different power supplies, network cables, different switch ports. Is there any solution?
Solid red light is bad news and is likely a hardware issue. If you are still within the warranty period or have extended warranty via Hub Protect, you would qualify for a replacement.
Bobby will help you w/the current situation...but sounds like you may need to look into some additional surge protection. (Yeah, I'm that smart-a** who likes to state the obvious while not really helping.) ![]()
Wow, even with a UPS. What type UPS was you hub on? I use small PiPower with 2 x 21700 LiIon cells, which can run the hub for many hours in an outage and also smooths out the POE power I use to charge the cells in the PiPower(straight POE power via an adapter to the hub is not advised), during which I'd perform a shutdown.
@bobbyD has gotten things worked out with this. Replacement is on its way.
The nice thing about using a USB power bank as a UPS between the wall adapter and Hubitat, is that there is no crossover time to cause issues like with a normal UPS. Hubitat is always running off the battery directly, and the battery just charges as it gets used.
I've been using a simple power bank as a Hubitat UPS for over a year now and it worked great during storms last summer when we lost power several times.
