I found several articles on the steps to take to reset a hub before re-purposing it.
However, I've not seen recommendations on how to safely power up an old C-7 hub after it was migrated to a C-8.
I'm concerned that I'll power up my old C-7 and need to enable the Z-wave and ZigBee radios to reset them. But, with my current C-8 now having all those same devices, it seems likely to create havoc.
I think I turned those radios off before I powered my C-7 off prior to the migration (but, I'm not 100% sure). Still, I expect I'll need to turn the radios on to reset them.
Somehow, I need to reset both radios, wipe out and local files, do a soft reset of the hub, and deregister the hub from my account, and reset the network settings.
If I do that within a block of my house, I'm concerned what that will do to my previously migrated z-wave and ZigBee devices and the new C-8 hub?
And. What needs to be done after resetting everything to keep the old hub's radio from conflicting with the new, C-8 hub's radios since the assumed the old hub's I'd?
You cannot reset the radios without re-enabling them, so you will indeed need to do that. To be extra-safe, you could re-enable one radio, reset that one, and then move on to the next radio to do the same. But Z-Wave shouldn't really care at all, and most Zigbee devices that do care should be long past the point of caring if you've had your new/C-8 hub in use for a while by now. So, this is unlikely to actually be a concern, but that's still probably the safest approach if you want to be extra-sure. Resetting these radios will not affect your C-8.
If you are re-using the C-7 for yourself, you do not need to de-register it, and it's also be up to you whether you want to erase File Manager, need to change Network Settings, etc. It sounds like you are keeping it for yourself since you're asking about Zigbee.
Continuing with the Zigbee question, the only thing there is that you would need to keep it on a different channel from your C-8 (as long as that C-8 still has the Zigbee network you migrated originally from this hub). So after resetting the C-7, make sure you check the Zigbee channel and change it if it's not already different from the C-8.
