It is my understanding that Wi-Fi and Thread require two separate radios. Is it technically feasible to repurpose the C8 Wi-Fi radio to support Thread if the C8 installation does not require Wi-Fi? Both operate in the same 2.4 Ghz range.

That would be the Zigbee chip. While theoretically possible, not so much feasible.

I'm not aware of any Wi-Fi chips that can do double-duty as Thread (or Zigbee), though some Zigbee chips can. However, that is not part of the plan.
