We're replacing our Samsung phones with new Samsung's and from what I have read,I just need to let both phones create a device by geofencing and replace our current phones with the newly created device's. Any other tips? Thanks
Assuming you're using the Hubitat Mobile App... the actual best practice is to simply log into the Hubitat Mobile App on the new phone. Then, when it asks you whether to create a new device or select an existing one, choose select existing device. You should see the Hubitat Hub's list of 'mobile devices', which allows you to pick the one that is being replaced. Once you select that device, you're done. You may need to drop the Geofence Pin on the Mobile App's map, but that's really all there is to it. None of your Apps on the Hubitat hub will need to be changed if you follow this method.
Just log into the mobile app from the new phone and select the old phone and call it the day No need to create new devices on your hub.
Thanks for the reassurance, I just didn't want to do something that would mess up my setup and had 2 days before we changed. Truly appreciate the responses.
As a follow-up, got it done but, Verizon tech used smart switch and when I tried to add, it would not work. Deleting mobile app (which had been transferred) and then DL App and installed and that did it. Thanks again!
