I was looking through my zwave details, and noticed my Schlage lock, which is using S2, is connecting through a Jasco zwave plus dimmer without S2. I always thought this was not possible. Or is it possible to repeat the signal, just without beaming?
The repeater just passes along the packets, doesn’t participate in the security or modify the packets.

Ah, good to know. Does this apply to beaming, too? Meaning do I need a beaming device to be have S2 for the lock to use it?
The switch should serve the purpose for you.

The speed on the lock looks fine. If you're worried about it locking or you get the occasional misfire, you can use the Reliable Lock app in HPM. It will keep trying the lock until it locks...
