This device is a plug in sw OR dimmer (selectable via switch). It is a Zwave Plus device. On the back side it says Remotec ZDS-220NA. Maybe AKA VS-LMP500-120.
Joined this to my C4 hub running 2.2.2.126. Works great, even knows physical and digital control. Sends device status to Hubitat. I did have to manually select Generic ZW Smart Switch for it to work as it joined as "device".
Tried joining to my C7 on 2.2.4.158 and after unchecking the security options and pressing OK - nothing happens.
Dumb question. Did you exclude it from your C4 first. Second dumb question. Have you performed a factory reset on the unit?. Third dumb question. If answer yes to first two questions, did you exclude it on the c7 before including it?
It was a brand new unit and I tried the install on the C7 first. I keep a Z-troller handy to exclude and test inclusion away from the hub. After the C7 would not finish inclusion, it DID exclude the device satisfactorily...reporting excluded unknown device.
I then went to my C4 hub and it included immediately, but required me to manually select the driver and press config. I suppose this is indicative of the C7 problem joining ZW items in general that I see posts about. My C4 is so reliable that I am apprehensive about moving to the C7 with its current problems. Shame because there are so many nice features added to the current platform that I would like to take advantage of but I won't risk my super C4 reliability - at least not for the time being.
The z-wave issue regarding inclusion is pretty much gone. Dumb question #4, how close are you when you try to include it? Wondering if the security is somehow getting in the way
Within 24 inches. My C7 does nothing of importance at the moment. I use it to try out the new features of the updated platform and to test new devices I acquire. The C7 found the module relatively quickly and presented me with the security box to fill in. I unchecked all the security choices and clicked ok. That was the end of our back and forth. I waited a bit over 5 minutes before I went back to the devices page and selected find devices and remove the partially added device. And I got a message: unknown device excluded.
