Remote Admin Error

I had to go on the road this week and decided to try out remote Admin, but I've yet to get it to work.

When trying to access the https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com/ url provided by the Hubitat app it doesn't appear to load then eventually gives me an Invalid Hub ID error.

Can anyone suggest next steps? The hub is obviously still online, but I'm not home to access it directly nor is my VPN working (fun to find out now...) so I can't do local admin.

Same problem here

@kieran I contacted the normal support email, and they had me logout and log back in (after doing something I assume). It's been functional since then.

I am able to get to the remote admin from my.hubitat.com on a browser - but get the invalid hub id error when trying to get to either (I have 2) from the mobile app.

Anyone know of a fix for this ?

@timloga I don't think there is anything we can do but hit up support. It's been great since then.

I have but so far the response from support has not been great - they said the account looks OK and to reboot the hubs (I did). Looks like they are confused about the issue... :frowning:

@bobbyD - can you check in ticket 21689 ? I am still getting invalud hub id

What happens if you log in at https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com/ directly?
It should show a list of hubs under your account, with an option to connect to them.

Yes - that works. The issue is only in the mobile app

The mobile app is just a browser for this particular functionality. Have you tried logging out, clearing the cache and logging back in?

It works by going to https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com - but not from mobile app. I logged out of the hubitat app - cleared the browser cache - and logged back in and still got "invalid hub id" when tapping "go to remote admin".

I suppose I can use my browser and go through https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com for now. But it would be nice for it to work directly from the app...

@timloga I'm not sure which mobile OS you are using, but you should try either clearing all data or reinstalling. That app functionality is just a browser, so it would be very unusual for it to behave differently except in such a case that the app has out of date cached data.

I thought I'd take another stab at this - I uninstalled the hubitat mobile app and tried again, same error "invalid hub error id error" . But am able to get to both hubs while remote using https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com. Oh well...

Seems like it should work cleanly in the app - especially since I pay $3 a month for the feature :frowning:

I just tested it by turning off my iPhone’s WiFi. I was able to connect to my hub via the Remote Admin feature of the Hubitat Mobile App’s Tools menu.

I found that if you go to tools, registered hubs, all the hubs show up with the remote admin button. But clicking that button always gets me 'invalid hub id'.

If you go to settings then change to the hub you want you can access it from connect to hub in tools. Remotely or otherwise. But you still can't access it using registered hubs.

Thanks - that works for me as well.
Mine still does not using registered hubs but your approach work fine.

I have this error using the Android app, regardless of being on wifi or not.

Don’t try to connect to your hub with remote admin when your phone is on your home wifi network.

It looks like you posted before your screenshot uploaded.

I've got a new oddity. My account says Remote Admin is enabled...

...but the button doesn't seem to think so, so I can't actually get to Remote Admin.

Behavior is repeated on PC and phone, and via the Hubitat app after logging out and in again.

Have you tried: https://remoteaccess.aws.hubitat.com/login
