I tried the "Test map API key" link and it works.
Probably this security API split thing that happened - I never created 2 separate keys.
Under Geocode API I have no key now. I was using the same one as the map API in OT.
Created a separate key.
Geocode API key check:
PASSED - Google Building 40, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Interesting. After fixing this.
Maybe I restricted the key too much?
Removed website restriction and it says Passed ATM

You cannot do what the family maps does with the embedded maps API. The one tile that shows just a single person, on a google map, is using the embedded maps API. The JS one allows multiple pins, regions, lines, etc. Embedded does not.
Oh yeh, that's the issue. You entered "cloud.hubitat.com" but the geocode is coming directly out of the hub. You should be able to use the local IP address of the hub in there instead.
Just want to avoid the Google email telling me I'm and unsecure risk.
Strange all the functionality was fine even with the failed API key.
I figured there would be some restrictions.
No big deal. As I say, Iām happy to be able to use the dashboard directly in a browser which works fine.
Thanks again.
You can solve them complaining by listing your hub's IP (you can see that in the settings page).
If you are using the forked version, I inject the geocode that the phone processed, so your failed API call would be masked by this.
Please ask how they do that...I sometimes need a place to hide. ![]()
It is a large undeveloped parcel with no address assigned. Literally a half mile down the road. I've just never noticed the "at does not exist" before. I'll have to look at the log when she drives home later. Now is later, she drove too fast and jumped right through the black hole.
My Android phone is no longer showing the address for my location. Here is what it shows. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Is that the latest version? I turned off the ongoing banner so I don't know if/when that changed.
I am on the latest version. It just updated on the hub and now I wonder if that is the problem.
I feel ashamed. There was a setting, display last location and time, on my phone under the notifications settings that was off. I turned it on and all is good.
Not a problem. I strongly believe we only learn from the greatest 1-off victories (which almost never happen) and the giant fiasco screwups (I have did MANY). ![]()
Hiya,
Life is a series of unfinished jobs for me.
I got around to reinstalling this. I don't know s mess about with the recorder a little in the distant past. But I seem to recall there was a basic update to this app ages ago which left a trail of breadcrumbs without needing to use the recorder.
Have I imagined this?
That comes with the Google Family Map in the Owntracks Hubitat version. You need to sign up for the free Google Maps Javascript API key, but that will give you those breadcrumbs, even when not on your local network (the limitation of recorder).
