[RELEASE - BETA] - "YoLink™ Device Service" app and drivers to connect Hubitat™ to YoLink™ devices

Does this app support the YoLink smoke detector YS7A12-U? I see smoke and CO detector driver and I have it installed but the sensor I have is only smoke. When I run the Yolink app I get the following:

YoLink Device Service Installation Errors - Created 07/09/2026 07:35:51 AM

YoLink Device Service App Version 2.1.23
Hubitat information: Hardware=000D Firmware=2.4.4.135 Uptime=826853

An error occcurred while trying to add child device 'YoLink SmokeAlarm-Garage Smoke Alarm'
Unable to create device 'Garage Smoke Alarm' because driver 'YoLink SmokeAlarm Device' is not installed.
Either the device is not currently supported by the YoLink Device Service app or you need to install the driver using the 'Modify' option in the 'Hubitat Package Manager' app.

Has anyone seen this type of error and what is the solve? It looks like it is trying to ping devices that I did not select to be in Hubitat. I selected only a set of YoLink devices to be in Hubitat versus selecting all but this device its throwing an error on is one that I did not select.

Make sure the YoLink device has been defined via the YoLink Device Service app.

I have been looking for the local hub and it seems they pulled it. As far as I have been able to read so far it had issues with speed, sometimes slower than the cloud, did not expose many of the device elements leading to major issues with automation - largely in home assistant from what I can see.

So it doesn’t appear that a local hub is in the cards. So the only way out of unreliable cloud access is to replace with something else?

Hi, I don't have that device, so I haven't written the driver.

YoLink used to provide me with new devices for free for development purposes, but they don’t any longer. Now, I only purchase devices I actually use because it comes directly out of my pocket.

Might look at this device as I could actually use it. No time frame for doing it though.

I don’t know, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. My code doesn't do anything wonky. I use WebCore, not Rules, so I have very little insight into them.

I haven't had time to really use my Local Hub. Don't know if the issues you describe are with users using the Local Hub in “cloud” mode, or truly “Local” mode. Started creating an App and Drivers to support Local mode, but haven't had time/energy to work on it lately (damned cancer).

Hmmm… you know, I’ve been using your YoLink drivers for a while now and I really like it. YoLink just fills a void, and your app/drivers are solid. Can I buy you a couple of these sensors as my way of thanking you for work you have done… and entice you to add them when you have a chance?

I think it might be because I probably subscribe to all device updates issued by the cloud. I’ll look at the code. I'll probably have to add an option to the App to suppress errors caused by undefined devices.

Besides the Smoke Detector, what else are you thinking about?

Just the smoke detector… I have several different YoLink sensors and they all work with your drivers… and I rely on them. Don’t know of any other sensor that doesn’t work or that I need…
