I'm going to have to carve out some time to load this up. It looks interesting
@ShaneAllen Any idea how/if your app will work with a matter lock (Aqara U400) that does not report/work with user codes in Hubitat?
So the primary way the application tracks someone is through the digital lock codes, but there is a fall back the butler uses presence sensors to see if someone arrived home and never unlocked the door. As for as kids, it uses continuous motion in there room or closet based on a time frame to determin if they are home. So its very friendly with or without lock codes but works best with codes.
[RELEASE] Advanced Voice Butler v2.5: AI Chat, RSVP Management, and Google Calendar Integration
I am excited to share a major overhaul of the Voice Butler. This version focuses on "Deep Context"âmaking the Butler not just a voice on a speaker, but a proactive assistant that understands the state of your home and simplifies guest management.
Whatâs New in v2.3?
1. The Butler AI Chat (Powered by Gemini)
The web portal now features a Live Butler Chat widget. Unlike a generic AI, this is fed live telemetry from your Hubitat hub. You can ask:
- "Who is currently home?"
- "What does my schedule look like for tomorrow?"
- "Is there any mail in the box?" The Butler responds in a professional, "Alfred-style" persona, maintaining the high-end estate aesthetic while providing real-time data.
2. Digital Concierge RSVP System
Hosting a party? You can now generate Digital Invitations directly from the portal.
- Unique Guest Links: Creates a private URL to send to your friends.
- RSVP Tracking: Guests can Joyfully Accept or Regretfully Decline, note dietary restrictions, and leave a message for the host.
- Lock Integration: Optionally assign a smart lock PIN and slot to the event. The Butler will automatically sync that code to your locks for the duration of the party and revoke it 24 hours later.
3. Bidirectional Google Calendar Sync
While the Butler has always read your calendar, he can now write to it.
- Add Events via Portal: Quickly add a "Dentist Appointment" or "Dinner Date" from the dashboard.
- Apps Script Bridge: Uses a lightweight Google Apps Script to securely push data from Hubitat to your Google account without complex OAuth refreshes.
4. "Silver Platter" Message Inbox
If a package is delivered or a voicemail arrives while the house is empty or in "Do Not Disturb" mode, the Butler will no longer announce it to an empty room. Instead, he stashes the message and delivers it on a "Silver Platter" the moment the first person arrives home or triggers their morning briefing.
5. Advanced Hardware & Presence Logic
- Fallback Presence Engine: If a user forgets to type their code but room motion is detected during their "arrival window," the Butler intelligently marks them home and delivers their greeting.
- Quick Lock Manager: Create temporary codes (1hr, 4hr, 24hr) for contractors or dog walkers directly from your phoneâs browser via the Butler Portal.
- Wi-Fi Quick Share: New "Text" and "Email" buttons on the Wi-Fi card allow you to instantly fire off the network credentials to a guestâs phone.
Gemini responses are limited. I will slowly allow more information to pass through as the app continues to evolve.

Release Notes: The "Orchestration & Oversight" Update
This release focuses on breaking down the "walls" between independent apps, allowing the Butler to have total oversight of estate operations, appliance health, and household logistics.
1.
Re-Imagined Butler Portal (Master Sections)
The Web Portal has been completely redesigned for high-density information management without the clutter.
- Contextual Grouping: All tools are now organized into 5 Master Drop-Menus: Concierge & Intelligence, Estate Management, Guest Services, Communications, and System Memory.
- Streamlined UI: Widgets are tucked away until needed, allowing the user to focus on live data like the new Appliance Health Table and Calendar Widgets without infinite scrolling.
- Butler-Specific Aesthetic: A refined dark-mode theme with custom SVG iconography to match the high-end estate persona.
2.
Cross-App Telemetry: Appliance Health & Status
The Butler is now "walking the halls." By linking with the Advanced Energy Management Controller (AEMC), the Butler provides a real-time health audit of the estateâs infrastructure.
- Live Health Table: At a glance, see if your refrigerator is COOLING, if the washer is RUNNING, or if an appliance is STRUGGLING (e.g., Clean Coils warning).
- Smart Filtered Announcements: The Butler has been taught the difference between "technical noise" and "useful info." He will stay silent about fridge compressors cycling but will proactively find you when the Dishwasher or Laundry finishes.
- Restricted Integration Modes: You can now define specific modes (e.g., Watching TV or Evening) where appliance announcements are suppressed and stashed in the "Silver Platter" inbox for later.
3.
Weekly Meal Planner & Morning Briefing
Household logistics are now centralized. No more "What's for dinner?" questions.
- Portal Editing: A new interactive widget in the portal allows you to type in the menu for the entire week and save it instantly to the Hubitat database.
- Wake-up Injection: If enabled in specific rooms, the Butler will include the evening's menu in your Good Morning sequence: "By the way, on the menu for dinner tonight is Grilled Salmon with Asparagus."
4.
Enhanced Social Intelligence (TTS Polishing)
The Butlerâs speech engine has received a significant "brain" upgrade to sound more organic and less like a computer reading code.
- Global Emoji Filter: Integrations often send emojis (
,
,
) for mobile dashboards. The Butler now runs a real-time Regex filter to strip these out before speaking, preventing him from saying "White heavy check mark" out loud. - Dynamic %name% Identification: When an external app sends a generic message to the Butler, he now checks the Live House Roster. He will automatically replace
%name%with the names of the specific people currently home (e.g., "Christy, the laundry is finished"). - The "Throat Clear" Fix: Restored the pre-speech chime (the throat clear) for arrivals and doorbells. The Butler no longer "blurts" out greetings; he politely signals his intent to speak first.
5.
Persistence of Incident Reports
We fixed a critical "Data Amnesia" bug regarding overnight and away-from-home events.
- Multi-Room Awareness: Previously, if the Living Room speaker announced that there was motion on the porch last night, it would wipe the counter to zero. This meant if you woke up later in the Master Bedroom, youâd miss the report.
- Mode-Based Resets: Incident counts (Night Motion / Away Doorbells) now persist all day and only reset when the house actually transitions back into a Night or Away state. This ensures every room gets a full briefing regardless of when you wake up.
Developer Note: This update bridges the gap between power monitoring and voice interaction. The goal was to make the house feel like itâs being "managed" by a professional who knows exactly when to interrupt you and when to just keep a silent log on the dashboard.
I am pleased to announce Version 2.8 of the Advanced Voice Butler for Hubitat. This update shifts the focus from simple text-to-speech to a robust Estate Management dashboard, allowing for deeper insight into household health, waste management, and proactive perimeter security.
Whatâs New in v2.8
- Estate Management Dashboard: The Butler now features a high-performance web portal. Access your household status, notes, and rosters from any browser.
- Perimeter & Weather Intercepts:
- Severe Weather Support: Full integration with local weather sensors (Rain, Heat, Flood, Tornado/Thunderstorm Warnings).
- "Sleep-Safe" Overrides: Critical weather alerts (Tornado/Thunderstorm Warnings) now automatically bypass "Good Night" switches and wake up designated bedroom speakers to ensure immediate notification.
- Proactive Intelligence:
- AI Habit & Anomaly Engine: The Butler now learns your household routines and proactively alerts you if a user is running late based on their typical departure time.
- AI Grocery & Cinema Scout: Weekly updates on grocery deals and trending cinema/streaming releases, delivered directly to your home.
- Estate Health & Hygiene:
- Appliance Health Tracking: Monitor critical appliance metrics and maintenance needs via the new dashboard.
- Waste Management: Real-time visibility into bin status, hygiene levels, and upcoming collection schedules.
- Dashboard Organization: The primary configuration page has been streamlined using collapsible menus, making it easier to manage your growing list of features.
Feature Spotlight: "Sleep-Safe" Overrides
We have added a new "Severe Weather" section to the security menu. You can now link specific virtual switches to weather events. During critical warnings, the Butler uses a "force-play" mechanism that ignores DND and Good Night status, ensuring that if a Tornado Warning occurs at 2 AM, the household is alerted immediately on the speakers assigned to your bedroom.
Note
The severe weather alerts work best with the following apps:
Advanced Severe Weather Detector:

Advanced Rain Detection:
raw.githubusercontent.com/ShaneAllen334/Hubitat_Apps/refs/heads/main/Advanced_Rain_Detection/Advanced_Rain_Detection.groovy
Version 2.8.1 released with fixes preventing the weather alerts from firing.
- Also introduced mail arrival and retrieval announcements.
