Recomend Improving Hubitat App

The Android App, especially as it relates to dashboards, needs to handle changes in networks better. Every time my isp (home <-> cellular) changes the App loses connection until it is exited and launched again. It knows it has disconnected as indicated by the red icon. So why then can it not reconnect without user intervention? Or at least try a time or two before giving up.

Might give more details like phone brand and model. My Samsung S23 Ultra handles the switch just fine. I do keep the app locked as keep open in the recents. Not sure if that makes a difference or if you can do that with other brands of phones.

If Samsung - 1) Open app, 2) Go to the home screen, 3) Open recents (|||), 4) Tap the app icon in recents and select "Keep Open"

I run a Pixel 10. The App stays open, it just disconnects and requires a reload to re-establish it's connection. Come to think of it, that may be part of switching from local to remote and not so much network switching. More tests with that in mind. Will it disconnect if a network switch does not involve going local <-> remote. I notice it more arriving or leaving home because that is what happens most often and is the most annoying due to needing a reload before the dashboard can again control the house.

Now it is switching networks no problem. Running the VPN may cause it to take longer probably because it waits for the vpn to reestablish. For now it is solved.

I've been running a VPN into my LAN for the last 6+years and still never exhibited this issue. I do have my set up to switch on/off automatically (Orginially using Tasker, but now using an app called WG Connect) based on the network I am connected to. It has always been seemless (unless it failed to disconnet the VPN when I returned to my home LAN - which has happened when tasker glitched on me). Hopefully, your issue stays gone. At least it doesn't appear to be the app causing the issue.

How can I find that? Googling that term only find links to Western Governors University. Googling "Wireguard Connect" only results in how to connect to Wireguard.

I currently use Tasker.

I got the name wrong (shows that I do not have to open it that often). It is WG tunnel
