Received new C8-Pro today - used local backup migration - zigbee and zwaves devices to not work?

I have a C8-Pro running 2.3.7.146 now. I believe it came with 2.3.7.145. I'm sure my C8 was on 2.3.7.145 when I made my local backup and then (since 2.3.7.146 wasn't out yet to fix the cloud migration option) I restored from a local backup file. Everything seems to be listed properly - but none of my zigbee or zwave devices work (about 24 in total). My Lutron and IP devices seem to be fine.

I've read through the forums and see most people with C8 units say the zigbee channel scan reports no information - all zeros. That is what mine is doing. When I try to see a graph of either zigbee or zwave it shows me nothing on zigbee at all, not even red hub icon. When I view z-wave I see a red hub, but no other devices.

Does a local backup not restore correctly and only a cloud migration will work? Or did I get another bum hubitat, this time a C8-pro bum? :frowning:

You need to use a cloud backup to do a full migrate.

Update your C8 to 2.3.7.146, take another cloud back up on the C8.

Then redo your migration to your C8 Pro.

You should probably use the diagnostic tool to do a full reset on the C8 Pro before you start the migration again.

You can access the diagnostic tool from Settings. Login into the Diagnostic Tool using your Mac address on the C8 Pro and then choose the advanced option in the diagnostic menu in the full reset choice under Advanced.

Adding to the above, save yourself from more possible pitfalls by reading this first (it's linked to in the migration UI and makes you claim you've read it before it lets you proceed, but reading it beforehand is even better  ):

I'm not seeing an advanced option area in my diagnostic screen - and I only see "soft reset" listed as an option. Is that the same thing as a "full reset"?

Since you only restored a local backup a full reset is probably overkill... Do the soft reset and then do the migration.

Run this endpoint: http://hubs.ip.address.here/hub/cloud/updateDiagnosticTool

It will download the latest diagnostics tool on the hub. The endpoint take several minutes to run with no progress indication. Once done, it will produce a plain text success/failed status.

This doesn't help. I've done all of this.

@dbhathcock you already have a thread about your issue. This person here used a local backup so your issue is not the same. Stop replying on random semi-related old posts. It will just cause confusion among people trying to help with multiple threads.

If you reply to the questions in your other thread we can try to help you.
