Migrating from Vera where I was a dedicated Reactor user. I started the Reactor install on my Hubitat C7 and got the to point in the instructions where it told me I needed to edit the config file "reactor.yam1" file. I cannot find this file. As I said, I am new to Hubitat and hope I am allowed at least one stupid question. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
From what I understand, which is not much when it comes to Reactor, I would expect the part that requires the yaml file would be running on another system, like a raspberry pi. If not, then on your HE, try opening Settings and locating the File Manager page, this should list any user-accessible files.
Thanks! No files in FM. Instructions seem to be specific to Hubitat environment. Contacted developer who has always been super helpful but I have not heard back. Appreciate your response.
Reactor for Vera was a plugin that could be run locally on the Vera. Multi System Reactor needs to run on another platform, not directly on the Hubitat.
I used MSR as I transitioned from Vera to Hubitat, but once I got comfortable with Rule Machine, I moved everything there and shut down my Reactor service (which had been running on a Raspberry Pi). I found it simpler and more reliable to have everything running on my C7.
Thanks. As I will not be getting any Pi, your help has encouraged me to make peace with the RM. Again, much appreciation for the responses I received.
There is also Webcore. You don't need a seperate system for that. It also runs locally.
Wow! I didn't expect all this great help. I'll look into it. Thanks! I really liked Reactor because it gave me what I call conjunctive control (this AND this as opposed to just this OR this). Again, I appreciate the pointer.
Rule Machine and WebCoRE can both do this. In RM, one "this" becomes a trigger, while the other "this" becomes a condition.
