So ... I have 3-D printed a rain gauge with an Aqara door / window sensor built-in. Right now I get a push notice and Alexa says that it rains every time it flips.
I now want to make a tile that counts up and shows the amount of rain. Each flip (on or off) on the Aqara corresponds to 0.5 millimeters of rain so it is not an advanced calculation. The only problem is that I do not know how to start or what to use. Anyone who has already done so or can tell me how to proceed?
That could easily be done in Rule Machine. You could use a variable and add .5 to it with every change of the sensor.
How do you plan to have it reset to 0?
Ok, thanks for the tip! Which tile / driver can I use to display numbers? Is there a generic tile?
Once you created your “decimal” variable, you can make it into a connector variable. A connector variable will create a new device with the same name and value.
Then, you can add the device to a dashboard using the “Variable Decimal” template.
@Sebastien Yes yes yes! Thank you very much!
it worked amazingly well! + that I finally learned about variables / connectors. Thanks so much for your help!
@ Kjelle
Can you post a link to the 3-D printer files you used?
@james.fischer I used this, the magnet holder did not work well so I drew a new variant for the Aqara magnet.
Happy printing!
