Question about Keen vents

C7 and its platform version 2.4.3.158

Ok, I have two flair vents that I can control locally with @vitaliy_kh help.

Now I acquired 2 keen vents. I simply put them in pairing mode, paired them to Hubitat, and started using them.

Here are my questions.

Should I have used the keen app to initially setup the vents or was the pairing enough since I can open and close them at will.

Will the keen vents open automatically if there is two much back pressure like it says it will do when connected with a puck, but I don't, I use my temp/humid sensors scattered around the house.

Thanks for the input.

Oh, and if anyone wants to sell a couple of keen vents please dm me.

Paul

I have no idea. I never had Keen Vents at all. And Fair Vents I modified on arrival, i. e never used them "as is".

Thanks @vitaliy_kh i understand. I could not pass them up when they became available.

Hopefully some others on here may know.

Pairing the keen vents directly to HE is sufficient. Maybe it's just my system but I have had multiple vents closed (too many) and have never had the keen vent open on it's own.

Hmm. That may just be a part of the keen hub and rules to control them.

When I was reading about the keen vents, I thought I saw that feature but like I said above, they do it in their hub.

That's ok I guess, I will just have to keep an eye on them to make sure they behave themselves.

Thanks for the reply

@pauljneil2 How do you control your flair vents locally????
I thought they were only via the cloud using the community flair vent app.
I HATE CLOUD BASED!!!!

I modified mine like @vitaliy_kh did and they work well that way. I didn't even try the hubitat app for the flair vents.

So, I have two keen vents and two modified flair vents and all of them play nice. I control them all with rule machine and a couple of generic temp-humid sensors in each room.

Good luck and have fun.
