Qubino ZMNHID3 Module with External Temp Sensor: Does energy monitoring work with HE?

I'm looking at adding a Qubino ZMNHID3 to monitor temp of a copper water supply pipe located in a crawlspace. The basic idea is that if the pipe temp is near 32 degrees, switch on the relay to power the heat tape, allow the temp to rise to say 36 degrees when switch off the relay. As an added bonus, the Qubino also monitors energy consumption which would come in handy to confirm that the heat tape is drawing power.

Can anyone confirm whether or not HE supports energy monitoring for this device?

Tagging @ericm as he may know given he wrote many of the ST device handlers and HE drivers for the smartest house.

I'm not sure about that particular module, but the ones that I have created the device handlers for do support temp.

You have to have the temp cable plugged in when you include it into your z-wave network for it to activate the temp feature though.

How about energy monitoring? I'm hoping to be able to determine if the heat tape is working by seeing if it's drawing current. Power consumption should tell me if it's energized.

Oh yeah sorry, same story with energy monitoring. I'm not sure about the model you mentioned but my handlers do support energy monitoring.

Perfect. Thanks!

Hi @ericm, can I use your Qubino device handler in Hubitat as is or do I need to do any modification?

I'm pretty sure the ones in my Hubitat repository work. I've had to make some changes to get the features working.

Awesome, I didn't notice you have a repo for Hubitat.

It does work perfectly.

Thanks a lot!
