Question: Using the built in Hubitat Dashboard, is there a template that I can use for a contact sensor that has a temperature attribute as well?
In other words, I'd like to display in some visual way:
- Open/close state of the sensor
- % battery
- current temperature
Thanks, in advance.
P.S. I know it isn't possible, but has anyone displayed the room that the sensor is in?
Don't think so, since the attributes are from one sensor.
However, if @thebearmay could comment, perhaps the related app may be appropriate:
Tile Template Device Manager.
Could I ask how this would work for this one type of contact sensor?
The Multi Sensor template comes close, but it has a third attribute (acceleration, I think?) that will be "unknown" for a plain contact/motion sensor. This was written with things like the SmartThings Mutlisensors in mind, which were combination contact, temperature, and vibration sensors, the first generation of which dates back to times when having a built-in temperature sensor in an otherwise single-purpose device was somewhat of a novelty.
But for some reason, the contact sensor template doesn't seem to do this. Interestingly, motion does. Maybe there weren't as many contact sensors that did this as there were when Dashboard was created.
I've asked @thebearmay if I could easily generate a new template for this type of device.
This is a custom template using the Tile Template Device Manager for an Inovelli 4in1, could have added the battery but chose not to.

As for room, it wouldn’t be too hard to add a special attribute function for it.
Edit: v0.0.5 now allows for the use of <%@room%>
attribute

There is also @gslender 's Hubivue dashboard. You can see it at www.hubivue.com which also allows multiple attributes on their tiles (works for apple, android, and windows. I only did temp and humidity but I can add more
