Proper Reboot of HUb

I see a bunch of posts on people seeing the hub with a red light and not being able to reboot it.

Is there in fact a correct way to do this that will work without harming it? thanks

IF you can't access the reboot via the WebUI, you can also issue a POST message (not a GET) to http://HUBIP/hub/reboot. You can also try and access http://HUBIP:8081. That is sometimes available even if the hub is locked up and has a reboot button.

@Ryan780 I have a different issue. I have a Iogear ethernet to wifi in-between the modem and the hub. We had a power spike I guess last night and the hub has a red light and the iogear doesn't seem to want to connect to the modem. Still trying.

EDIT: I unplugged iogear from hub. reset power to iogear and reconnected it to the modem. Still could not access hub through IP so did a power reset, which I did not want to do, and the hub reconnected. Seems to be working ok. Thanks for the reply.

If it has a red light, that means it is shutdown. The only way to "reboot" is to pull the power, wait a few seconds and plug back in.

@patrick Thanks, I thought for sure I would have screwed up the DB, but good to know that if it is red it is OK to recycle power.
