Procedure for removing z-wave extender

I have a plug-in z-wave extender (aeotec) which I now believe isn't really needed. Only two devices are hopping through it and I feel sure they could make it direct to hub.

What are recommended steps for removing it?

You just need to exclude it.. But, I always say, there is no such thing as too many repeaters..

I'd just read this article Sensative Strips: The invisible (almost) smart home sensor which seems to be saying Sensative strips batteries last twice as long if there is no extender. As it happens, neither of my strips are using it, but I was planning to buy two more. I am a bit skeptical of the claim, but on the other hand I'd really love to get the use of that electric socket back if I don't need it!

I would be too.. That's a pretty odd claim..

Everything depends on the test setup - in this case, distance from the strip to the controller, and distance from the strip to the repeater.

Well I excluded, all went well, and the two that were using it (Aeotec multi-sensors) are now hopping through a third Aeotec multisensor that is much closer to them! (All three permanently powered) It feels tidier anyway

I am glad your devices have found an alternate path. Leaving a range extender in the drawer seems a waste. See if there is somewhere else where the repeater can be put to good use.

Nowhere right now, everything seems to be connected well even the couple of things in the back yard. I think I was a bit pessimistic when I started out
