Hello again. I have a problem with Room Lighting again. This also happened after I upgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 so maybe there's some period after a platform level change that causes issues for a few days?
Anyway, I have 2 "scenes" for every room: One for ALL LIGHTS ON for that room and one for ALL LIGHTS OFF. It seems like after a platform upgrade, all of my ALL LIGHTS ON scenes work perfectly fine. However, ALL LIGHTS OFF does nothing. According to the logs, the button press IS being registered and the ALL LIGHTS OFF scene IS getting triggered, but the lights do not change.
Again, this only affects my scenes that command the lights to be OFF when the scene is "activated", but it affects ALL of them. And again, this exact thing happened after the upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4, but eventually resolved itself after a few days.
So my question is, why does this happen? It is now a clear pattern.
Ok, nevermind. I found that there has been a change to the way Room Lights operates after this new update. Previously, I would just select the "OFF" and "Force" chekckboxes for the scenes where the only action is turn off commands, and activating the "scene" would turn the lights off. Now, I also have to select the "Act" check boxes too, and the OFF scene triggers properly.
I'm not sure why it used to work fine the way it was for months and now it has to be done this way, but I changed all my scenes and now they work again with the expected results.
Mine was working fine, then with 2.3.4 it started acting funny. I couldn't figure out what was going on, but it ultimately resolved. It could be my fiddling with it that fixed it, I honestly don't remember, but anyway, once I got it working again, it worked perfectly every day until I upgraded again to 2.3.5. Again, I started fiddling with my scenes, and figured out quickly this time that there was clearly an background change in the way the app works, but I was able to figure out how to make it work properly again. So it seems like they are still working on some underlying changes within the app and UI, the new platform update must carry some of those changes.
I too want this like this app. I think I am finally starting to understand the way the developers intended for it to work. I still like it better than the previous Scenes/Groups app, even if it has introduced some frustration here and there.
