Problems with notifications

I am having a consistent problem with notifications from a rule. I have a rule setup to do various things when the Smoke/CO detector alarms, one of which is notifications.

When I test the rule, the notification that I get does not fill in the variable values and also reports the same incorrect date & time in the notification. After deleting and recreating the notification, at least the date and time are correct now but the variable substitution still isn't working. Below is the rule and notification definition. The notification problem formats the message the same way in both the app notification and Twilio SMS service.

Those values come from the rule being triggered, not from you running it from the UI. Run from the UI, there is no event "device", or event "value", or event "time". Blow some smoke in one of your detectors to really test it.

Well that definitely makes sense. I have been accused of "blowing too much smoke" already.... Thanks for the clarification. I'll get my wife to cook something and that will do it...
