Problems with a SmartThings outlet

When I pair a SmartThings outlet, it doesnt allow me to turn on or off, but just shows child devices and states in the device details. Is there a way to treat this like a normal outlet?

This definitely isn’t the expected behavior. I have five of the SmartThings outlets, V4 and V5 (Samjin) and they all paired as Generic Zigbee Outlet. On the device page, scroll down to the device driver dropdown and change the driver to the one that’s named “device”. Hit “save”, then tap every button that starts with the word “delete” (states, children, jobs, etc). Then change the driver back to the Generic Zigbee Driver, hit “save”, then tap “configure”. That should fix it.

Do you mind posting a screenshot of the Device Information section from Device Details page? You should be able to change the "Type" to the Generic Zigbee Outlet as @Ken_Fraleigh suggested above.
