Problems using iPad (& Safari?)

I got a message that an HE upgrade was available while I was in my HE admin on Safari (i.e. using my browser and not the app). It was from 2.2.4 something to 2.2.5.123. When I did, it downloaded the upgrade, verified it, and started installing it, but never finished I waited well over 1 hour for something that should have been a few minutes. I ended up having to do a restore and set everything up again. This was about a week ago, i.e., the end of Jan, 2021.

I was then able to do the upgrade with no problems on my iMac in Safari. As it had said it would, that whole process only took a couple of minutes for each step.

A few days later, (again, just a couple of days ago) I tried to create a Rule Machine rule using my iPad and Safari. It took several minutes to give it a name and then I could never get past getting started with it. That is, I could never get to the part where you actually start picking devices, telling them what to do, etc.

I am running a 6th gen iPad, so it is about 1 1/2 years old. I have 128 gigs of RAM and over 86 gigs of storage free. iOS 14.3 and HE 2.2.5.126.

I donā€™t know if anyone else is having any issues with iOS on an iPad and HE, but Iā€™m finding it is impossible to do anything like that. However, I am able to operate my Dashboard without any problems on my iPad.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

I use an iPad to do almost all my rule creation and it seems to work fine. I just did the upgrade yesterday from my iPad (but I used the app) and it worked flawlessly, I was scared to take the plunge due to all the recent upgrade woes, but seemed to work fine

I have to agree with @maxamis. I tend to use whatever computing device is handy when I see an upgrade is available, and given that we've had several in the last week or two I know I've used both an M1 Mac mini and an iPad that's about three or four years old (latest iOS), both running Safari as a browser, to update. I seem to recall using a four-five year old Macbook Air and an iPhone X as well in the past couple of months. All worked fine updating three hubs. So, while it might be some setting, I don't think it's the device itself or the browser itself.

I also use whatever device is handy when I see the message, so it's not unusual for me to be on the iPad when it occurs. I do use Chrome on the iPad though.
