I am having trouble upgrading my hub. It will download the file, but it will never apply the update "completely"?. I believe it stays in "applying updates" for hours. I was able to "stop it", but then whenever I tried to see my interface, it will say that it cannot connect to my hub. I would go to the Hub diagnostic and it would say that I am running the latest version (like if it had been successfully installed), but again, I am not able to see my interface, dashboard, apps, etc. I cannot even to reset it from the app. The only option that I have, it is basically to revert to previous version.

It is OK to revert to previous version, and if that makes it work, that is what I would do.

Backup in smaller blocks, such as half the pistons in one backup and the other half in a second backup. The problem you are experiencing is not related to the latest release. The webCoRE backup processes pistons in chunks. If the chunk it grabs is over a certain size it will error out.
Somehow I tried the latest version and it upgraded without issues.
