The findmyhubs tool found my new C8 pro but not the other two hubs. the IP scan got the self-signed cert error when it hit the IPs of the other two hubs but did nothing. i want to migrate my c7 to my new c8 pro using the cloud but i cant until my c7 is backed up to the cloud so i need to register it.
is there a way to directly register my hub using a manually entered IP?
I would let the DHCP server assign an IP address, may need to run the network reset on the hub if you attempted to assign a static IP.
The registration and your hub IP assignment are not related. The registration process is driven by your Hubitat account to allow the hub to access the Hubitat's cloud services. The IP address is a local function that allows the hub to communicate with your local network.
the findmyhub tool doesn't find it. it is a static IP. i've also tried clicking on the hub's registration link "Register Hub" on the hub's main menu (it's a C7) then i click on the "Login" link which takes me to My Hubitat and then i click the "Login" button that that page and then it redirects me back to my local hub's main menu url. it still says 'cloud connection unavailable' and there's no indication it was registered. stumped.
is there an alternative way to register the hub?
