For whatever reason BC will not allow me to either create a new app (Error: Cannot invoke method put() on null object), or delete the app entirely (error 500). The grief started by simply renaming one of my devices (a Lutron Pico remote), now I'm stuck...
Since I need things working by the morning I reverted to an earlier backup and the app appears sane now. Perhaps when I had to move the hub to include some door locks I didn't wait long enough for the shutdown process--who knows. Anyway I've lost a lot of work but I'll survive. I've had similar problems on other platforms and none were as easy to restore.
If this happens again, you can remove a messed up app from its App Status page (gear icon next to the app on the Apps page). This will usually allow you to reinstall the app and get it working right.

I had tried removing the app but that's when I got the error 500. Luckily the backup had my locks included (I had to move the hub to include them).
i am getting the same thing. new hub cannot add button controller error 500 .. since new no backup before this started .
weird full shutdown and reboot fixed it.. not having warm fuzzy right now.
