I have a Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro and am trying to pair it with a Kwikset SmartCode 912 (Model 450241) Z-Wave door lock. I have been able to connect the Hub to my Eero mesh network. When I try to pair (include) the lock with the hub the lock connects on some level because I'm asked to name it. It includes with SO security but Current States remains bland and Live Logs shows nothing when sending commands. I've tried everything, including reseting the Kwikset lock, excluding the lock, re-including the lock, but even though I'm told that a command has been sent when I tap either the Lock or Unlock button on the Hubitat website ([http://hubitat.local]) the lock doesn't respond by locking or unlocking. ChatGPT has been trying to help me with this installation and suggests that the device seems to join but does not complete the Z-wave interview or that the node entry in the hub's Z-Wave table is partially corrupted. I am not a technical person and am frustrated that I can't talk with a live Hubitat support person who can help me overcome my problem. Can you help?
Exclude it first. Then include again and use S2 security. There’s a 5-digit PIN you’ll need to enter that’s typically written on the inside of the lock under the removable glass cover.
Locks, and Kwikset specifically for me, are notorious for not completing inclusion if they’re distant from the hub. If poss, bring them close together (not always feasible with locks, though).
I have that lock. It uses z-wave 500 chipset. It doesn't do S2 so S0 and 40Kbps will be as good as it gets. That said mine has been working even using zwjs on my hubitat. Use current hubitat code of you are also running zwjs. I would recommend excluding it. Then factory defaulting it before re including. It is battery powered so it is possible to lay it out on a table with the keypad connected near the hub and include it there.
Ahh, that’s a relic. Thx for the correction. Hope it helps the OP. ![]()
