Previously working GE/Jasco switch suddenly decides it's not reporting state anymore

I have one of my older switches suddenly stop reporting state. It responds to ON/OFF commands from the HE device page but there's no events being reported. Strange thing is I have not done anything lately, no new devices added.

Zwave settings says it has a direct route to the Hub. I have rebooted the hub once already but will check again on my scheduled reboot tomorrow.

I have a timer polling this hub every 30 secs.

I've had this happen a few times with one of my GE 14291 Z-Wave Plus switches; 'rebooting' the switch works. In my case, pulling the little tab out underneath the paddle was sufficient to get it reporting again.

Does that reset the switch or just powers it off?

AFAIK it removes line power from the Z-Wave chipset as well as the load. I've never had to actually trip the breaker on it to get the switch reporting again. It does not reset the switch, inclusion-wise.

Thanks! I will give that a try when I get home.

It worked! Now I can stop ocd'ing about it.

Good! I use a 14291 on a whole house fan along with an app to check if there is an open door or window before allowing the fan to switch on; so it's key to know the state of the switch (especially if someone operates it manually) for the rule to work. Luckily it doesn't require a 'reboot' very often.

Yes, the one reason it bugged me a lot is I use the switch for the bathroom exhaust. Not knowing the state of the switch makes my rule useless
