I can't wait til they get to smart speakers, I think that is something consumers have been crying out for.....
The predictions for 2022 look a lot like those pundits have noted for past years, but with a bit more emphasis on security and including IOT as infrastructure. I think these trends change at a pace of evolution, while a few manufacturers introduce things that cause revolution (which advances the overall industry's evolution). It's a bit of a stop-start, and the older I get, the more I think it's impossible to accurately and precisely predict.
I was looking for something in the garage this week and came across yet another box of old X-10 modules. Made me smile, to think of those early days and how thrilled I was to be able to simply turn on a light with the push of a button.
What an incredible prediction ofโฆthe present.
Telcos to the rescue! Theyโre doing such an amazing job thus far.
Telco's are the worst. Do not want to change with the times because it would cost them money and the things they do add are typically failed attempts to lock you into their older technology., The changes alone in the last 25 years have been more to stop hemorrhaging customers than to advance technology and supportive infrastructure.
I think there's some differentiation among the pack. T-Mobile for one is not your traditional Telco but it gets categorized as such, yet they were hell bent to shake up the sector.
Their approach to IOT has been aggressive at the B2B level with extremely competitive rates for SIM + connectivity. Of course you can't just walk into a T-Mobile store and ask for one of these affordable IOT plans, you gotta find some reseller because T-Mobile only wants to bother selling these plans in bulk for B2B field applications.
My prediction for 2022: Inovelli switches available Q2 2023.
