I would prefer without myself. Just plug the cat cable in and away you go.
I guess it would be nice, as long as the required power class isn't above 3. That way both POE and POE+ switches can be used. So a +1 from me for that as well

I am already using a similar solution, however, the z-wave dongle solution plus this amounts to three additional cables. Each additional cable is a risk both as a failure point and as connectivity issues. Also, is a very untidy cable management issue. Definetely not something you would want as a "home" solution where it can be "forcibly on display"
