Plug with top/bottom form factor

Looking for a plug with a small form factor. Have furniture right next to a plug, so normal smart plug bumping straight out further is too large to fit. Trying to avoid blocking the second outlet. Zigbee or zwave is fine. Something like the zen25?

Thanks!

Or perhaps the Zen15 if the round section can fit hidden underneath the furniture??

Check out the EVA Logik stuff. I have one behind my fisk tank for the light, works great and the pump plugs into the non-smart side. Just be aware they have multiple models, some both plugs are smart and some just one side is. They also have a dimmer model. You can also find the exact same design sold under other generic brands (probably made by the same OEM).

Another option would be a receptacle instead

Not exactly small but another option to keep it close to the wall is an APC P6W and a Sengled (lower in pic) or Third Reality (upper in pic) plug.

If by top/bottom you mean the height of the plug, you can fit two of these on an outlet, and they are excellent devices:

Another good option, also can fit two on an outlet:

The problem is, it’s tight already with just a plug in the outlet. If I extend that by an inch or two more with a standard smart plug, too much. Moving the furniture an inch or two starts to block a closet.

Trying to avoid the ‘I guess I need a new dresser’ conversation.

LOL...then you'll likely have to use a slim/angled extension cord and plug the smart plug into that. I do that in a couple similar locations...

Change the outlet itself

In addition to the z-wave receptacle @rlithgow1 linked to above, there’s a zigbee version too.

Years ago I was introduced to “power strips savers” aka short extension cords that has helped solve many situations like this. They now have angled ones that don’t stick out from the wall that much such as these (many other options on Amazon, first one I found):

I have several of these plugged directly into the receptacle and then the smart outlet plugged into it behind dressers and beds.

This is the answer...buy like 12 of them...so many uses. The flat 360-degree rotating ones are particularly useful.

i just use these all over the place.. they are much cheaper than anything else

Haven't seen that particular one, but I have a few similar to that around the house as well, very convenient when you need more plugs. I do like the flatter plug of the simple extension cord in a couple very tight placements behind a few of bookcases that my wife wants slammed up against the wall.

Here’s my slap head moment. This will work, and not very $$. Thanks all!

Those Eva Logik plugs in post #3 are very good. Plug them into the bottom, keeps your top outlet open, and the device plugs into the side rather than the front. They work very well in tight places, and are rock solid plugs.
