My hub is a C-8 (non-Pro).
The Issue: I have several floor lamps, all fitted with dimmable LED bulbs. I wish to fit plug-in dimmers to each of them. I do NOT want to go with Lutron. As good as they are I am trying my level best to get past a hub for this a hub for that, a hub for the other.
I Tried: I tried the Leviton DG3HL-1BW. They work well, but they seem to have quite a lag when turned on. Five or six seconds from "Alexa, set the lights to 50 percent" to them doing something. Once on, changes of light level, or asking them to shut off is quick. The same delay in coming on occurs with a Zigbee button I have set up to turn the dimmers on in my office. If I go right to the device page in Hubitat, the response is about 3 to 4 seconds. Another beef: below about 20% they just poop out. A Lutron dimmer I control with a Pico goes way below that yet the lamps remain on. This is good for home theater time.
Call me "Monk" but that delay annoys me.
What I Seek: Do any of you have suggestions to something that responds more quickly? I am protocol-agnostic; I am good with Zigbee, Z-Wave, or with Matter, either flavor.
The price on the Levitons is certainly reasonable and adding them to my Hubitat has gone flawlessly for the four I have.
Your thoughts?
Thank you.
