Hello, I'm testing the playTrack function but cannot get it to work:
I verified the http://soundbible.com/grab.php?id=2215&type=mp3 URL is valid using my browser.
Strangely, 'Test is complete' is spoken a few seconds after clicking 'Run Actions' and then again two minutes later.
Additional testing has revealed that PlayTrack will resume whatever was last played on a Sonos device.
Is this expected behavior or a bug?
Okay, it appears there are at least two different play track functions. There is:
Control Music Player, Volume, Sounds->Control Music Player->play track
and
Set Mode, Variables or File, Run Custom Action->Run Custom Action->Music player-playTrack-string
Either function will play a track stored locally on Hubitat: http://192.168.0.xyz/local/labrador-barking.mp3
But if a track from the Internet (http://soundbible.com/grab.php?id=2215&type=mp3 ) is specified, Sonos plays whatever was last played instead.
bobbles:
This works OK for me.
Can you please test with http://soundbible.com/grab.php?id=2215&type=mp3
Hmm. Interesting.
I changed the parameter to use your url and it still played my original radio station. (bbc_radio_two).
Changed it to bbc_radio_one and it played the new station.
Changed it back and it played radio two.
Something is wrong with your url I would suggest.
What happens if you use the same url as me?
If there are constraints on the URL type or format, Hubitat should state as much in their documentation.
I don't know if there are. Does the url I'm using work for you?
The URL you're calling appears to be a playlist, not a MP3.
I verified playTrack is also broken in Rule 5.x:
Also broken if URL is encoded:
