Placebo, or....?

Does ZW-JS seem noticably quicker than ZIP? I can't tell if it really does, or if I just WANT it to.. but I believe I am experiencing noticably faster response times across all of my ZWave devices.

Some say emphatic "YES!" and some say "NO!" and some say "Maybe?" and some say "Unlikely."

I haven't seen anyone post about any rigorous testing, going back and forth between JS and ZipGateway, and even if someone did that's on their hub and the results might not replicate on other hubs/environments.

This stuff always seems to be very YMMV... :man_shrugging:

P.S. Mine sometimes seems like it might be a little faster on ZWJS, but I've been on ZWJS for weeks now, so no way I could realiably compare my faded experiences w/ZipGateway (which generally worked very well for me).

Placebo Domingo :grinning:
I think if you have no FLiR devices and you have Command Retry enabled on devices there may be a perceptible change but personally, during all the beta testing, I really haven't noticed any difference.
YMMV.

JS being a bit faster was my initial impression too. Now I'm not quite so convinced. But overall, JS does feel somehow sturdier to me -- after reboots and resets, ZIP often seemed to need a bit of a warm-up period, but JS doesn't skip a beat - it's ready to rock.

I LOVE his work.

Mine have been well behaved lately. Settling in?

I was still reading that one!

Sorry @Slate

I was attempting to repost to the thread having accidentally only replied to @danabw. Then because my post was too similar (the same) I wasn't allowed to repost:

I moved from Vera to a C8-Pro a couple of months ago and was delighted by how responsive it was. Switching to ZWJS I believe is on average faster. My prompt transition was based on seeing it as necessary at some point and having the time. I wasn't looking for a speed bump but I noticed one. That's obviously based on just a few days with many fresh reboots and placebo may be in effect. More tangible to me is the fact that my Monoprice PIR sensors were previously problematic to include with best success when within 12" of the hub (I believe they have a short wake period in which the inclusion must complete). These things now pair in three seconds through two walls and a ceiling!

On reflection: Perhaps pertinent is that most actions are performed using GoControl remote battery operated switches. So they may just be performing better as triggers as opposed to all devices... YMMV!
My two subjective cents!

Hi All,

Just a little more anecdotal evidence: After much struggle, I had previously given up on getting my oldest (not the latest generation) ZCOMBO alarm onto the HE. So I figured I'd give it another go with ZWJS. Successful inclusion on the first attempt - back on the wall in 5 minutes!
