I'd like to have a Pico remote on my nightstand that will turn off lights designated for the task when I go to bed. I know a Pico remote can control a single light but can it be the trigger for a macro such as this? I presume it can. I have my Lutron Smart Bridge Pro configured and my Lutron lighting controlled by Hubitat.
It sure can. Simply use the Pico’s buttons as triggers into Rule Machine. You can then perform whatever actions you’d like.

What @ogiewon says. My wife and I have bedside Picos on a pedestal where top On button turns on the house in morning and bottom Off turns off house. Basically I use modes to do this where the button changes mode via a rule from button press. But I do include a few additional switches in our master bedroom along with button press. I have had this setup for over a year and love it. If garage is open it closes, locks unlocked they lock, and then certain lights turn off and some on.
