Physical toggle switch not responding as desired with Shelly 1

I have a Shelly 1 wired to a floor lamp (120 volt AC).
The lamp is wired as per the documentation on the USA Shelly website.
The physical toggle switch on the lamp is wired to the SW terminal on the Shelly 1.
I'm using the "Shelly WiFi Switch" driver in Hubitat.

If I turn the lamp on from Hubitat, then flip the physical toggle switch nothing happens.
I need to flip the toggle switch back and forth to get the lamp to turn off.
Conversely, the same behavior is true if I turn the lamp off from Hubitat.

This behavior is confusing for someone who expects the physical toggle switch to behave normally.

Is there a better way to set this up?

There are a few ways to set the toggle option in the Shelly app. One of them will toggle - I think that’s what you’re looking for.

In the Shelly app I set:
BUTTON TYPE to Edge Switch,
and
POWER ON DEFAULT MODE to Restore Last Mode

Now it is working properly.
